Jonathan Starling

With a career background that includes marine biology and natural history, together with experience as an economist, a policy analyst and as the executive director of an environmental charity, Commissioner Jonathan Starling brings a unique perspective and a wealth of experience to the Commission of Inquiry.

 

Mr. Starling’s educational background is in Sustainable Development. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Biology and Anthropology from Trent University, Canada. In addition, he was awarded  a Masters in Science (with Distinction) in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Mr. Starling also studied at  Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, where he achieved a Masters in Science (Distinction) in Ecologocal Economics and a Masters of Philosophy in Environmental Justice/Urban Studies.

 

Mr. Starling gained his extensive work experience in Bermuda, Canada and the United States. He is currently employed in the Economic & Cooperative Development Unit at the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation (BEDC).
